Protagonist Confesses Love Publicly in ‘Marry Me, Mary’
KBS Global [2010-12-24]
An open confession of love in “Marry Me, Mary” has melted the hearts of many women as well as the heroine.
In the December 21 episode, Wie Mary (Moon Geun-young) happens to see Kang Mu-gyul (Jang Keun-suk) being kidnapped in a car and flags a passing police patrol car to go after it. Seeing the police car, the kidnappers let Mu-gyul go and flee. Mu-gyul and Mary hurry to make it to a concert he is scheduled to hold.
The two barely make it to the concert holding each other’s hands with all eyes on them, as people have been anxiously waiting for Mu-gyul, the lead vocalist, to appear. He stands on the stage while Mary gives him a worried look, and says, “I dedicate this song to a girl who has warmed my cold heart. I love you, Mary,” before beginning to sing.
His confession has moved not only Mary but also women viewers, many of whom wrote that it made their hearts pound.
But with only two more episodes left until the end, another twist of events is expected to keep the tension high for the show as Mu-gyul happens to see Jung In (Kim Jae-wook), who is supposed to marry Mary, hugging her from behind.
“Marry Me, Mary” airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:55 p.m. on KBS2.
