Romantic Rivals Come to Live Together in ‘Marry Me, Mary’

Three protagonists in a love triangle have been in an awkward situation as they ended up staying in the same place in the KBS2 drama “Marry Me, Mary.”

In the December 20 episode, Kang Mu-gyul (Jang Keun-suk) flees from his own place to avoid the father of Wie Mary (Moon Geun-young) and can’t go back because Mary’s father is occupying it to catch him and Mary. Mary’s father becomes angry because Mu-gyul’s mother took the diamond ring Mary received from the father of Jung In (Kim Jae-wook) -- Mary and Jung In have a deal to pretend to be a couple.

Jung In lets Mu-gyul and Mary stay at his place with him for a while.




Mu-gyul teases Jung In by saying, “I’m going to sleep in the same room as Mary. We do that at our place.” Jung In, with a straight face, tells him to do as he asks him to do since it is his place and offers to let him sleep in the audio-video room. But even this gets on Jung In’s nerves and back in his room, he imagines what could possibly be happening between Mu-gyul and Mary.

Mu-gyul wakes up for a glass of water but does not know where he can get it. He wakes Mary to ask for help. Mary spills orange juice on Mu-gyul’s sweater by mistake and offer to wash it for him. This makes a slight noise and causes Jung In to wake up as well.

Coming out of his room to see what happened, Jung In hears Mu-gyul and Mary talking and suspects what the two are doing. He bursts open the door of the bathroom, saying, “What are you doing?” but finds them simply washing the sweater. Feeling embarrassed, he adds lamely, “Why are you washing it by hand late at night, disturbing my sleep, when you could have used the washing machine?”

These unexpected sides of Jung In, who looks cold-hearted and indifferent, has raised interest in the show.

“Marry Me, Mary” airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9.55 p.m. on KBS2.
