[News] Two movie releases precede Hyun Bin’s military service.

With military service looming and his current drama earning him raves, looks like Hyun Bin will be leaving civilian life with a bang. Not only is he constantly in the news for Secret Garden — whether it’s for his sparkly tracksuit fashions, his song on the OST, or the general fan-love for his quirky character — he’s also got two movies coming out in quick succession: Late Autumn and Love Me, Love Me Not.

Both movies are looking at February releases, coming on the heels of his drama role. Filmed in Seattle, Late Autumn co-stars Tang Wei and is a remake of a famed 1966 Lee Man-hee film of the same name, which deals with an intense three-day love affair between a woman inmate who is granted special leave for several days and a man on the run. It was initially aiming for a November release, but obviously that didn’t pan out.

Then there’s Love Me, Love Me Not, a small-scale melodrama that co-stars Im Soo-jung. It’s about a married couple on the cusp of divorce; after five years as spouses, the wife falls for a new man and tells her husband she’s moving out. Hyun Bin’s character, on the other hand, is a man who is extremely considerate of his wife. The film is described as a “hide and seek of the heart” between the couple, and will release on February 24.

Hyun Bin is currently drawing notice for the news that he has applied to serve with the Marines during his two years of service, which will begin in March.
