It’s been revealed that the March 14th volume of the manga serialization Weekly Shonen Jump has been made available for free viewing on Yahoo Japan.
Jump’s editors at Shueisha stated that the delivery of the printed magazine has been delayed in the earthquake affected areas, and in order to solve the problem, they have decided to allow this year’s 15th issue to be read off the internet. They also commented that they wanted to “deliver the works of the mangakas to as many people as possible.”
To view the manga works, you have to first download a free viewer app. Details can be found at http://event.yahoo.co.jp/shonenjump/special/, although be warned that everything is written in Japanese. The special online distribution will continue until April 27th.
In related news, the release of the upcoming 17th issue of Jump, originally scheduled on March 28th, has been pushed back to April 4th.
