CHANGSHA, CHINA: Brunei-born Taiwan singer-actor Wu Chun categorically dismissed the rumours that have swirled around his departure from Taiwan boyband Fahrenheit, reported Chinese media.

Shortly after the announcement that Wu has left Fahrenheit earlier this month, there has been speculation that he left Fahrenheit because he couldn't get along with the other members of the band.

But he insisted that he simply wanted to pursue an acting career, and would gladly tour with the band if the opportunity arises.

"Releasing an album as Fahrenheit is not really possible, because the next half of the year is too busy.

"But, if there is a concert tour, or some other performance, I think I will still participate," Wu told Chinese reporters, after a recording session for a Chinese variety show on Monday.

When asked about allegations that Wu quit Fahrenheit to spend more time with the wife he had secretly married and the child she bore him, Wu explained that these allegations were baseless and 'seasonal'.

"These rumours have been around since three years ago, and always became more serious after a period of time. Now, they make it sound as though it were real.

"Even I am mystified," said Wu of the rumour mongers who claimed he is secretly married and is already a father.

The 31-year-old star went on to address rumours that he left Fahrenheit in order to manage his family's business in Brunei.

"There is no such thing. I will never leave Fahrenheit for something like this!" Wu declared.

"Actually, I am quite remorseful because my father hoped that I can succeed the family business."

"But he saw how much I loved showbiz and let me do what I loved. So, once I have the time, I will go back to help."
