Gong Yoo will hold a fan meeting over the weekend to celebrate the 10th year since his debut, according to his agency fantagio on Wednesday.

Fantagio said through a press release that Gong Yoo will meet with his fans from both home and overseas at the event to be held at Mapo Art Center in Seoul on September 4.

"I'm looking forward to and excited about this fan meeting a lot because I think it'll be more meaningful than other fan meetings. I believe that I'll be able to spend some valuable time with my fans during which I'll be able to look back on the mindset I had when I first debuted," the actor was quoted as saying in the statement.

Gong, 32, whose real name is Gong Ji-cheol, debuted with a role in KBS’ TV series “School 4” in 2001 and has appeared in more than a dozen television dramas and films since, including the 2003 film "My Tutor Friend" alongside Hallyu stars Kwon Sang-woo and Kim Ha-neul.

He became a household name throughout Asia after starring in the 2007 hit TV series "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" with actress Yoon Eun-hye.

He was then on a two-year hiatus to fulfill his mandatory military duties after which he took on movie "Finding Mr. Destiny" with actress Lim Soo-jung last year.

His next project is movie is "The Crucibles," co-starring actress Jung Yu-mi, which is set to hit theaters on September 22.
