Han Hyo-joo will visit Japan next month to promote her TV series, according to her agency BH Entertainment on Thursday.

BH announced in a press release that Han will hold a fan meeting with 2,000 fans to promote her MBC historical saga "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" on October 10, her first-ever official fan event in the country.

She will then make her rounds with local media outlets for interviews and appear on televised programs to promote "Dong Yi" along with her co-star actor Bae Soo-bin for three days starting October 12.

"Dong Yi," about a woman named Dong Yi who grows up to become Choi Suk-bin, a consort of King Sukjong and the mother of King Youngjo during the Joseon Dynasty, ran from March 22 till mid-October, scoring viewership ratings in the high 20 percent range as well as breaching the 30 percent range.

The series has been showing in Japan every Sundays starting April 10 on NHK cable channel BS Premium.

Han rose to stardom throughout Korea and Asia after starring as the heroine in "Brilliant Legacy" in 2009 and in the historical TV series "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" the following year. She has also visited several countries in the Asia region promote both productions.

She will attend the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) next month with Hallyu star So Ji-sub for their movie "Always" which was selected as the opening feature for the event.
