World-renowned Italian tenor 'Andrea Bocelli' will sing the theme song for upcoming film My Way, which stars Jang Dong Gun, taking the blockbuster film up another notch.
'My Way' music director Lee Dong Jun had Bocelli in mind since the planning stages of the film to emphasize the grand scale and drama of the motion picture. Lee sought Bocelli for a year, but the task of bringing him on board for the project proved to be difficult. Bocelli, who lost his sight at a young age, said that because he cannot see the film it’d be difficult for him to take part in it. However, after receiving repeated requests from the director, Bocelli agreed to participate in the track.
Bocelli said, “I was moved by the story of a man who finds hope despite losing everything. I think that there are parallels to my own life.”
“The song’s lyrics and wonderful melody touched my heart,” continued Bocelli. “It’s an honor to be able to sing the theme song for such a impressive film.”
Composed by music director Lee Dong Jun and written by Bobby Choy (Big Phony), the Andre Bocelli-sung track To Find My Way will be played during the end credits of the film.
My Way is a film about a Joseon man (Jang Dong Gun) and Japanese man (Joe Odagiri) who meet as enemies during World War II but later become sources of hope for one another. The film is set to open in theaters on December 22.
