China series Startling Step by Step got Kevin Cheng a rise in popularity in China. Also, with his recent TV King awards and honor, Kevin's salary skyrockets. It was rumored Kevin's salary in Mainland reached up to 250,000 RMB per episode. Currently Kevin is loaded with 'gold digging series', aside from the new Hengdian series Hero that he started shooting today, he also accepted the modern version of Startling Step by Step to start in mid-year and another Mainland series.
The three series are estimated to bring him 30 million HKD. As his popularity rapidly rises, Kevin also gets a raise in his appearance money for attending events, reaching up to 150,000 RMB per appearance. He will soon be heading over to Wenzhou to attend a New Year's Countdown show. Also, according to Mainland reports, Nicky Wu and Kevin Cheng are the artists with the most potential for Ads in 2012.
Leaving HK for gold digging, Kevin wrapped up the shooting of TVB series Ghetto Justice II in a fire car accident scene. Kevin personally took on the scene himself, surely putting his life on the line.
As he recently got into a car accident from avoiding a dog and crashed his car on the side of the road, asked if there is a 'shadow' when shooting car accident scenes? He said: "That was just a minor accident, just a small bump. There won't be any shadows."
