KBS drama "Man From the Equator" is expected to make more noise on the Wednesday and Thursday primetime lineup.

"Man From the Equator," starring Uhm Tae-woong and Lee Bo-young, grabbed the No. 1 spot for the first time with an average rating of 12.2 percent, after beating out the former two-week winner SBS' "Rooftop Prince" on Wednesday and Thursday nights, according to data compiled by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Friday.

Although the series dropped a percentage point from last week's Wednesday, the winner of the week has proved that the drama is creating a stronger target audience with its tension-filled romantic suspense.

Due to the unexpected rise of Uhm and Lee's starrer, JYJ member Park Yuchun and Han Ji-min's "Rooftop Prince" dropped a slot to sit at No. 2 during the two days.

On Thursday, the 'timeslip' drama aired two episodes, ninth and tenth episodes, marking an average of 11.5 percent of viewership ratings this week.

Despite receiving favorable responses from the audience and TV critics, MBC's "The King 2Hearts" dropped down to the third spot after drawing in 10.1 percent of the total TV audience.

Meanwhile, AGB Nielsen Media Research's survey revealed the shows in the same order but with slightly different numbers.

According to the AGB, "Man From the Equator" pulled in 12.5 percent of the total viewers, followed by "Rooftop Prince" and "The King 2Hearts" with 11.2 and 10.6 ratings, respectively, this week.
