[News] Media Accreditation for the Royal Cremation of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana.

The Government Public Relations Department, as Secretary to the Committee on Public Relations for the Royal Cremation of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana, will establish the Main Press Center (MPC) for the Royal Cremation at the small auditorium of Thammasat University, Tha Phra Chan, near the Sanam Luang ceremonial site, to facilitate the operations of the media during the Royal Cremation from 8 to 12 April 2012.

Correspondents/photographers/cameramen wishing to film/photograph and cover the event at the ceremonial site and designated media’s stands are requested to fill in the application form for media accreditation and submit to PRD necessary documents.

The media accreditation is open from 1-30 March 2012 at Meeting Room 2, 1st Floor, PRD Auditorium, on Soi Areesamphan, tel: 0-2618-2323 ext. 2201, 2205, and 2206, fax: 0-2618-3616. The application form can be downloaded from the website www.princessbejaratana.com.





Sandalwood Flowers for People to Join the Royal Cremation of Princess Bejaratana.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has prepared 700,000 traditional sandalwood flowers to be distributed to members of the public wishing to participate in the royal cremation of Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana on the royal cremation day, Monday, 9 April 2012.

The sandalwood flowers will be offered at five floral niches at Sanam Luang and nearby areas. Among the five niches, three are situated on the northern side of Sanam Luang, one in the Tha Chang area, and the other one on the pavement opposite the Statue of the Goddess of the Earth.

The sandalwood flowers have also been distributed to 46 temples in 46 districts of Bangkok. Each temple will receive 10,000 sandalwood flowers from BMA for distribution.

Members of the public are invite to pay a final tribute to the late Princess with the sandalwood flowers, between 12.30 and 15.30 hr, and from 18.00 to 21.00 hr on Monday, 9 April, in those areas.

For those living in the provinces, the Ministry of Interior has assigned various provinces to select temples where the sandalwood flower tribute is to be held simultaneously nationwide.
