MBC series "Light and Shadow" has kept up its winning streak in ratings on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup.

"Light and Shadow," which goes around the story of a show biz group in one of the darkest times in Korean history during the 1970s and 1980s, drew an average audience of 21.4 percent rating on Monday and Tuesday nights, according to data compiled by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics).

The show is growing more promising by posting higher numbers every week, adding to an impressive cast of Ahn Jae-wook-- who now marks his 18 years of debut--, actress Nam Sang-mi and songstress Son Dambi.

SBS' "Fashion King," a comedy drama featuring Yoo A-in, Girls' Generation's Kwon Yuri, Shin Se-gyeong and Lee Je-hoon, mustered around 11.4 percent rating in average this week, but it was no competition for the stable "Light and Shadow."

KBS' "Love Rain," however, was no competitor at all to the two despite its notable casts, Hallyu star Jang Keun-suk and Girls' Generation member Yoona, drawing lower-than-expected numbers in the range of 4 to 5 percent, TNmS showed.

The series has been receiving much criticism from the TV critics and viewers with its inability to differentiate the dating culture between the 1970s and the present time.

Meanwhile, data reported by AGB Nielson Media Research on Wednesday displayed similar figures of the dramas.

The front-runner "Light and Shadow" put up 22.6 percent of the total audience, followed by "Fashion King" in second with 9.6 percent rating and "Love Rain" at the bottom of the chart with an average of 5.4 percent viewers during the two days.
