Hallyu star So Ji-sub's mini-album will become available in Japan soon, according to his agency 51K on Tuesday.

A PR rep with 51K told 10Asia in a brief phone interview that So's "Corona Borealis" (translated title), which was first unleashed in Korea in March, has been set to go on sale in Japan but the release date has not been confirmed yet.

"So is currently busy shooting SBS’ TV series 'Phantom,' but he has managed to spare some time to complete the album in time for its release in Japan," the official explained.

She added that the album will include a pictorial of the actor as well as a DVD featuring behind-the-scene footages of So recording the album and music video.

The actor has always shown interest in hip-hop music: he recorded two songs for his 2009 action film "Rough Cut" and released four albums to date under the nickname G,

Known as one of the most popular actors in Korea, So made his debut in 1996 and has since appeared in a number of TV dramas and movies.

He became a household name in Korea and Asia with his roles in the 2004 hit series "Something Happened in Bali" and "I'm Sorry, I Love You."

He last starred in the romantic drama "Always" with actress Han Hyo-joo and waiting for the opening of his new movie "Office Worker."
