Korean auteur Jeon Kyu-hwan is readying to surprise world film manias again with an upcoming big screen project.
On Wednesday, the pic’s production company Tree Film told the magazine Jeon’s new humandrama film “Two Boys” [translated title] began its shooting early this month.
“The movie will touch deep inside of the audiences’ heart, and we hope people get true warmth and comfort through this healing movie,” the film’s no-guarantee cast member Cha In-pyo was quoted as saying.
“Two Boys” is a fantasy human drama describing young brothers’ sad long journey of life. It delivers a mother's sadness of letting go of her loving child and the child's scar.
Along with Cha, actress Lee Tae-ran is also donating her acting talent to the touching family drama, which is slated to open in local theaters next year.
Jeon's latest work "The Weight" was awarded the Queer Lion award at Venice Days, the independent sidebar for emerging filmmakers during the 69th Venice International Film Festival last September.
