Korean heartthrob and multi-entertainer, Lee Seung Gi touched down on Malaysian soil on 1st November 2012 late evening for his first ever showcase in Malaysia called “Tonight with Lee Seung Gi” organized by Jazzy Group. A short press conference was held at Westin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 2nd November 2011 at 11:30am. Hosted by Mynn Lee, Lee Seung Gi walked in with a smile and greeted the media with “Apa Khabar”. Members of the media were given a close-up glimpse and insight into Lee Seung Gi’s upcoming project and what he thinks of Malaysia.

This is Seung Gi’s first time in Malaysia as part of his Asia Tour after having made stops in Singapore and Taiwan earlier on. When asked on his view of Malaysia as a first time visitor, he shared with the media that despite only arriving the day before, he woke up this morning and was greeted by the beautiful skyline view of Kuala Lumpur from his hotel room and thus, he felt very good being in Malaysia.

Seung Gi also mentioned that he has not been able to sample any Malaysian food so far as he headed straight to the radio station after touching down for a radio interview and thereafter was brought to a Korean restaurant for a quick dinner. He quipped that the chef at the Korean restaurant had asked why he did not try any Malaysian food as there are many delicious Malaysian dishes. The chef also recommended him to try the local dish called “Nasi Lemak” which he heard was really good and would be keen to try.(Korea.com spoke to and understood that the Malaysian Airen Fan Club had purchased Nasi Lemak for Lee Seung Gi to sample as part of his lunch pack).

When asked how it feels to be popular in Korea and Asia, Seung Gi said he was initially afraid and felt pressured. However, he is very thankful for the constant support given by fans all over.

On his upcoming project, Seung Gi mentioned that for the month of November, he will be busy working on his 5.5 album – otherwise also known as a mini album. For this mini-album, he will be collaborating and working with Epitone Project. He is also busy preparing for his concert in Seoul which will be held in December and has expressed hope that Malaysian fans will also join him in Seoul for his concert.

When the MC asked what he misses most after leaving Strong Heart, he said he misses the laughter and funny stories shared by other Korean celebrities on the show and given the opportunity, he would want to host another variety show again.

The press conference ended with a message from Lee Seung Gi himself for Malaysian fans:
“Thank you all for supporting me and I’m really happy for that. With tonight’s showcase, I would love to have a lot of interactions with all the fans tonight and I’m really looking forward to it. Terima Kasih”
