Actress Moon Geun Young recently showed off her fluent French.
Moon plays the role of a rookie designer named Han Se Kyung on SBS’s new weekend series Cheongdamdong Alice.
She shot the scene, in which she is having a job interview with a clothing company in French. Ida Daussy, who is from France, appeared on the series as an interviewer.
Ida Daussy asked Moon, “Can you tell me about principles you apply to your life in French?” Moon answered, “L’effort est ma force. C’est cela mon credo,” which means, “The effort is my strength. That is my creed.” Then she continued in French, “My father always said that life is like a recipe book. I watched every French movie to be certified in French.”
When Moon finished shooting the scene without making any mistakes, Ida Daussy said, “Moon learned how to pronounce French in short time. She is very good at speaking French just like her character in the series.”
The series is about an ordinary girl trying to become a rich wife. Besides Moon, Park Si Hoo, So Yi Hyun, and Kim Ji Seok will appear on the series, which will start airing on December 1.
