[News] “The Horse Doctor” Continues its Winning Streak, “The King of Drama” Ends Low on TV Chart.

“The Horse Doctor” has dominated the Monday and Tuesday ratings chart as it did in 2012, proving its undeniable popularity.

The period-set drama secured its crown for thirteenth week after recording an average of 19.3 percent ratings during the week of January 7 and 8, TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] showed on Wednesday.

With its captivating story lines, the Cho Seung-woo and Lee Yo-won starrer has earned strong support from viewers in their forties to sixties, who are the enthusiastic manias of costume drama.

The KBS series “School 2013” landed at No. 2 after posting an average of 15.5 percent ratings of total viewers in the same time frame.

Depicting a recovered friendship between two high school rebels portrayed by Lee Jong-suk and Kim Woo-bin, the 16-part series has attracted teenage audiences who feel deep empathy on current issues in schools.

Sitting at the bottom of the chart is the SBS drama “The King of Drama,” which wrapped up its 18-episode with lower-than-expected 7.6 percent ratings on January 7.

To fill up the empty Tuesday primetime slot, the channel aired “2013 SBS Drama Special Preview – A Date with the Man and the Woman” [translated title] but grabbed only 4.7 percent of total viewers.

Amongst some of the SBS leading series to hit the airwaves this year, Kwone Sang-woo, Soo-ae and TVXQ! U-Know Yunho’s revenge stories "Night King" is to premiere on January 14.

In the meantime, Nielson Korea showed the three dramas in the same order yet slightly numbers from TNmS’ during the second week of January. 

While “The Horse Doctor” grabbed the top seed with 17.4 percent, “School 2013” and “The King of Drama” followed next with 14.4 and 6.7 percent, respectively.
