[News] “The King’s Doctor” Stays at No. 1 on Ratings Chart.

The MBC drama “The King’s Doctor” has stretched its winning streak in the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup.

The Cho Seung-woo and Lee Yo-won starrer grabbed the top spot with an average rating of 19.7 percent during the week of January 14 and 15, according to data polled by TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] Wednesday.

Helmed by director Lee Byung-hoon of Hallyu drama “Jewel in the Palace,” "The King`s Doctor" centers around Baek Gwang-hyun, a veterinarian who becomes a royal physician during the Joseon Dynasty.

Following next was the KBS drama “School 2013,” which nabbed 16.6 percent of the total viewers.

The teenage drama has received favorable reviews from viewers for its delicate portrayal of school lives and problems.

Meanwhile, the new SBS series “Yawang,” starring actor Kwone Sang-woo, Soo-ae and TVXQ!’s U-Know Yunho, sat in the last position with just 8.3 percent.

Beginning its first run on January 14, the revenge drama pivots around two orphans, Ha Ryu and Joo Da-hae. Ryu devoted himself to looking after Da-hae but she betrays him to become the First Lady.

Nielsen Korea’s data also showed similar figures of the three dramas to those of TNmS during the third week of January.

While “The King’s Doctor” topped the chart with 18.7 percent of audiences, “School 2013” and “Yawang” followed next with 15.0 and 8.1 percent, respectively.
