MANILA, Philippines - Award-winning Korean actress Park Shin Hye will be holding a fan meeting in Manila in March, marking her first time to visit the Philippines.
The "Park Shin Hye: Manila Fanmeeting 2013" will be held on March 16 at the Star Theater at CCP Complex in Pasay City.
During the fan meeting, the actress and singer will "serenade her Filipino fans and interact with them," according to the organizers.
She will also hold an autograph signing for selected fans.
Park Shin Hye currently stars in the romantic comedy TV series "Flower Boys Next Door" along with heartthrobs Yoon Shi-yoon and Kim Ji-hoon. The series started airing in Korea last Jan. 7 on cable channel tvN.
She plays the character of Ko Dok-Mi, who lives alone in her apartment. The story begins when she is caught by one of her neighbors checking out her male neighbor using a pair of binoculars.
Park Shin Hye said starring in a cable drama gives her freedom and there's no tight filming schedule, according to ENewsWorld.
"I felt this during filming, but there′s a lot we can express in our acting. Rather than be chased on because we′re short on time, we have more time to think things over, and we can show more," she said.
Park Shin Hye started her acting career with the drama "Stairway to Heaven" in 2003 that earned her a best child actress award.
Since then, she continued appearing in dramas until she achieved international fame via "You're Beautiful," which aired in 2009.
"You're Beautiful" starred Park Shin Hye, Jang Geun Suk, Hongki of FT Island and Yonghwa of CN Blue.
She also starred with Yonghwa in the drama "Heartstrings" in 2011.
Among her awards are New Star Award for "You're Beautiful," Popular Movie Actress for "Cyrano Agency" at the 47th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2011, Popular Drama Actress for "Heartstrings" at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards last year and Best Actress at the 2012 KBS Drama Awards.
