Gong Yoo has been publishing his own fan magazine in Japan since December last year, according to his agency N.O.A Entertainment on Thursday.

N.O.A. revealed in a press release that Gong Yoo has been publishing his own quarterly magazine titled “Monster” since mid-December of last year which is only about the actor himself.

“Monster,” whose third volume was released yesterday, contains every detail to Gong Yoo's major work including in films, TV commercials and posters as well as information on his travels, his favorite music, the books he read, his friends and other hobbies of his.

Gong Yoo has actively participated in making the magazine, helping to decide on its cover, the final design for its contents and taking part in the final editing process.

He also came up with the name of the magazine, wanting to go beyond his existing gentlemanly image to show a more diverse side to him through one of his favorite words, explained the statement.

“’Monster’ is considered one of the top quality magazines among other personal Hallyu star publications in Japan with substantial content and good photos, resulting into a steady increase of readers,” an official related to the publication of the magazine said, adding that they are currently considering extending the number of publications initially set till volume 4.

Gong Yoo, 31, whose real name in Gong Ji-cheol, became a Hallyu star in Japan after starring in his 2007-hit drama “The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince” which was aired in Fuji TV and attracted over 15,000 fans in his concert-combined fan meeting held in Osaka last year.

Just last week, he signed with EMI Music Japan, one of the four major record companies in the country that has expanded its business to manage the careers of actors, to further his activities there.
