Korean actor Lee Jun-ki and balladeer Park Hyo-shin have received awards from the Ministry of Health & Welfare (MW) for their contributions to the community, according to the government organization.

On Friday, MW announced in a press release that Lee and Park, both currently fulfilling their two-year mandatory military service, received the "This Month's Nanoomin" award at the Nanoomin ceremony which took place at the Press Center in Seoul today.

The two have actively taken part in helping out the less fortunate -- Park had previously held concerts which allowed seating for the disabled community as well as donating profits from his shows to the Good Neighbors foundation to help the less fortunate children overseas, while Lee had made several monetary and rice donations to the needy.

Park made his debut in November 1999 with his first album "This I Cannot Do For You" and has since released a number of hit songs such as "You & Me," "She's Mine" and "Stupid."

Lee shot to stardom after starring in the 2005 hit movie "The King and the Clown" and has since starred in TV series "My Girl," "Iljimae" and "Hero."

The two are currently serving their military duties as soldiers in Korea's Defense Media Agency.
