Several thousands of fans welcomed Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon and actor Kim Soo-hyun's arrival in Japan today, according to their agency KEYEAST on Friday.
KEYEAST announced in a press release that Bae and Kim were greeted by some 4,500 fans and about 30 local media outlets at the Haneda Airport in Tokyo on September 2.
The two actors flew into the country for the DVD release event of a show titled "Dream High Premium Event 2011" to be held at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan on September 4 while the DVD will go on sale on September 28.
Park Jin-young, miss A's Suzy and 2PM's Taecyeon and Wooyoung will also be in attendance for the festivities.
In Japan, "Dream High," about the dreams of six students who attend a performing arts school aimed at cultivating celebrities, was originally shown on Japan's DATV in January and on TBS in July.
The show was a joint production between top entertainment firms KEYEAST and JYP Entertainment and also starred T-ara's Eun-jung and songstress IU.
It brought in viewership ratings in the 18 to 20 percent range during its two month run in Korea since early January and has been sold to several countries in Asia including Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam and Cambodia.
