Jo Hyun-jae, who starred in this year’s SBS drama “49 Days,” will launch his own fan magazine in Japan. The newly established publication distributed Saturday is called “JOVE59.” The name of the magazine is derived from the combination of J for his name, the word “love,” as well as the actor’s birthday, which falls on May 9.
The magazine will be published every quarter and according to the publisher the actor is the fourth Hallyu star to launch a personal magazine. Previous Korean celebrities to have established their own publications include actors Song Seung-hun, Gong Yoo and Jang Keun-suk.
“Through the magazine we hope to reveal the genuine and charismatic side of Jo. The magazine aims to convey the love and devotion the star feels towards his fans,” said a representative from the publication.
The star is currently in Japan undertaking preparations for the Japanese launch of the drama “40 Days” to air on 3rd Febuary.
