MBC’s medial series “Golden Time" sat atop its throne on the Monday and Tuesday primetime lineup during the first week of September, easily pulling off its seventh straight win.

“Golden Time” registered an average rating of 15.2 percent for its episodes which aired on September 3 and 4, according to data polled by TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) Wednesday.

Starring actor Lee Sun-kyun and actress Hwang Jung-eum, the medical series continued to draw more viewers with each episode with its portrayal of professional doctors struggling to save the lives of patients at a general hospital in Busan.

Major broadcaster SBS came next with their primetime series "The Great Doctor," which recorded an average rating of 12.5 percent during the same time frame.

The sudden increase in viewers was sparked by the series focusing more on the romantic relationship between the warrior Choi Young [played by Lee Min-ho] and doctor Yoo Eun-su [played by Kim Hee-seon].

KBS' "Haeundae Lovers," starring Cho Yeo-jung and Kim Kang-woo, rounded out the chart in third place by attracting an average 10.4 percent of the audience.

Meanwhile, AGB Nielsen Media Research reported that MBC's "Golden Time" was also the top show on its chart with an average rating of 15 percent.

SBS' "The Great Doctor" and KBS' "Haeundae Lovers" each posted an average rating of 10.4 percent and 9.6 percent to rank in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, during the same period.
