Jang Keun Suk’s full-length ad on Asahi newspaper won a “Newspaper Ad Award 2012” in Japan. In May this year, total eight pages of promotional ad for Jang Guen Suk’s first Japanese music album “Just Crazy” were placed in popular Japanese newspaper Asahi Shinbun.

The prize was awarded on October 19 at the Tokyo Prince Hotel as a celebration of the 55th “Newspaper Advertisement Day.” Out of 475 submissions, only 10 ads were rewarded and Jang Keun Suk’s “Just Crazy” was one of them.

The award Jang Keun Suk received was originally created in 1981 by the Japanese Newspaper Association in order to promote different potential uses of the newspaper ads.

Even before the award, this giant eight-page advertisement had already received a lot of attention from the Japanese media, proving that Jang Keun Suk is indeed the “Prince of Asia.” It also was a great help to catapult his first album to the top of the Oricon daily and weekly charts.

An official from the Japanese Newspaper Association stated, “Full-page ad spaces were well used by placing full-body picture of popular actor-singer Jang Keun Suk; it left a strong visual impact.”

Meanwhile, Jang Keun Suk is planned to finish his 2012 Asian Tour “The Cri Show 2” with three more shows in Saitama, Japan on November 26, 27, and 29.
