The SBS series “That Winter, the Wind Blows” has won TV viewers’ hearts over its competitors and puts on its first crown on the Wednesday and Thursday ratings chart.

The melodrama dominated the chart after pulling in an average of 12.7 percent of Korean viewers during the week of February 20 and 21, TNmS [Total National Multimedia Statistics] showed on Friday.

Starring two top stars Zo In-sung and Song Hye-kyo, the sad love story between a gambler and a blind woman has been earning enthusiastic support from drama lovers especially woman viewers in their thirties.

With a marginal gap between the chart-topper, the MBC drama “7th Grade Civil Servant” grabbed the second spot with an average of 12.5 percent ratings in the same time frame.

The Joo Won and Choi Kang-hee starrer showed happy time spent by the two main secret agents Seo-won [Choi] and Gil-ro [Joo] in this week’s episodes, as the 20-episode series reached its half point.

Meanwhile, the KBS spy thriller “IRIS 2” fell down to the bottom of the ranking after grabbing an average of 11.9 percent ratings, mostly consisting of male viewers over 40.

Nielsen Korea showed the three dramas in the same order with slightly different numbers from those of TNmS’ during the third week of February.

While “That Winter” topped the chart with 13.7 percent ratings, “7th Grade” and “IRIS 2” sat next spots with 11.9 and 10.7 percent, respectively.
