Park Si Hoo′s law firm has warned against the baseless reports being released on the case, saying that it will be taking extreme measures against outlets that wrote such articles as well as the Seobu Police Agency for leaking information.

Prume said through a press release on March 25, "We have taken legal measures, including a request for a correction, against two outlets which reported that Park Si Hoo′s lie detector test indicated his answers were false. We also plan to ask a higher authority to inspect the Seobu Police Agency and find out how confidential information has been making it into the news."

It added, "We will attempt to uncover the truth so that the rights of the accused are not trampled on by malicious deeds or baseless reports. We hope press will find it in them to write justifiable reports."

On March 22 a media outlet had said a Seobu Police Agency rep revealed that "Park Si Hoo′s [answers to his] lie detector tests all came out to be false."

The Seobu Police Agency had refused to comment on the case in general.

What follows is the full press release from Prume.

1. On reports about the lie detector test

The Seobu Police Agency is currently maintaining that it never leaked the results of the lie detector test, but false reports were continually released, bringing serious harm to Park Si Hoo′s honor. The press has been reporting blatantly that Park Si Hoo′s answers to his lie detector tests turned out to be false, but no reports on the accused have been released. With this we cannot help but doubt whether such reports are based on objective fact.

Such reports that won′t take responsibility for what they say and the outlets that relay the reports hurt the ones directly involved. Even if the reports turn out to be false later on, all responsibility is put on the victim. The Seobu Police Agency has said it never leaked confidential information but the reporter continues to assert the information came from the Seobu Police Agency. We and our client can only feel heavy with worry.

2. We will hold those involved responsible

We have taken legal measures, including a request for a correction, against two outlets which reported that Park Si Hoo′s lie detector test indicated his answers were false. We even plan to demand other outlets to correct their reports. We also plan to ask a higher authority to inspect the Seobu Police Agency and find out how confidential information has been making it into the news. What must be emphasized is that outlets have been saying they got the information from the Seobu Police Agency while the Agency has said it never leaked the information.

We and our client cannot continue to stay quiet on such actions, and we will attempt to uncover the truth so that the rights of the accused are not trampled on by malicious deeds or baseless reports. We hope press will find it in them to write justifiable reports. Please do not forget that such false reports make it harder to uncover the truth and those who come to harm shed tears of blood.
