Organizers fo the 15th Seoul International Youth Film Festival [SIYFF] has confirmed that this year's event will be held for 8 days from August 22 to 29, a day longer than last year's event.
Last year's SIYFF saw 90% of all seats filled. The festival organizers say this year's edition will have a new short film section called "Competition 9+" which will screen films made by children aged 9 to 12 with the aim of fostering cinematic dreams in children.
Meanwhile, SYIFF will accept applications from children who wish to take part at the Giffoni Children's Film Festival in Italy, the oldest children's film festival in the world.
From July 18 until 29, children from Korea and
other parts of Asia can apply to take part at the event in Giffoni. The
Giffoni Film Festival invites young people from Korea and the rest of
Asia through SIYFF.
The selected children will stay with Italian
families and take part at the Giffoni event serving as members of the
youth jury at the prestigious film festival.
