Auld Lang Syne ..Song for New Year.

"Auld Lang Syne" is a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional folk song . It is well known in many English-speaking countries and is often sung to celebrate the start of the new year at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Day.

เพลง "Auld Lang Syne" ชาวตะวันตกถือว่าเป็นเพลงฉลองปีใหม่ เนื้อเพลงว่าด้วยเรื่องของการให้อภัยและการลืมเรื่องบาดหมางทั้งหลาย "Auld Lang Syne" มีความหมายเป็นภาษาอังกฤษก็คือ The Good Old days เป็นคำอวยพรหรือคำโบราณของชาวสก็อตแลนด์ เพลงนี้เริ่มใช้ครั้งแรกก็ตั้งแต่ศตวรรษที่ 18 เล่ากันว่าในสก็อตแลนด์สมัยโบราณนั้นจะนำเพลงนี้มาให้คนในหมู่บ้านร่วมร้องกันพร้อมกับจับมือกันเป็นวงกลมร้องเพลงไปเรื่อยๆจนกระทั่งผ่านคืนส่งท้ายปีเก่าแล้วข้ามไปยังปีใหม่
