The actress's manager claimed that the pair are merely good friends. On Sep 7, Taiwanese media spotted Jerry Yan's ex-girlfriend Terri Kwan at a karaoke in the Eastern District of Taipei with a male companion.

Two hours later, a slightly tipsy Terri exited the karaoke, with the worried-looking guy in tow. The actress' assistant was already waiting inside her vehicle and the trio left after Terri and the guy boarded the vehicle.

When the report was published, a member of the public tipped the media off, claiming that Terri's new love is actually Christian Chu, a Hong Kong resident and that the pair have been dating each other secretly since April.

Christian is said to be working as a guest relations officer in a private night club in Hong Kong.

The person also claimed to have witnessed Terri and Christian dining at a Thai restaurant on Sep 8, and they had spent the next three days together.

When the paparazzi staked out at Terri's residence in Tianmu on Sep 11, the pair -- dressed casually -- was spotted leaving the place and driving to another residence 100m away.

Terri alighted first and was followed by Christian who was carrying a bottle of liquor. The couple did not leave the building until 2am.

Responding to Terri's relationship rumour, Terri's manager Chai Xiao Qian clarified that the actress and Christian have been friends for seven to eight years.

She confirmed that Christian is a Hong Kong resident, but not a guest relations officer at a night club. He is a Business Management graduate, who is currently working at a financial institution.

Xiao Qian also explained why the pair was spotted at Terri's house on Sep 11.

"Terri values her friends very much. She was just trying to be hospitable," she said.

The manager added that Terri and Christian were merely there to attend a BBQ party at a friend's house and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
