[News] Choi Kang-hee, Joo Won Readying for 'Battle of Love'.

They may not have a bomb or a sword in their hands but actress Choi Kang-hee and actor Joo Won are declaring a war.

Choi has decided to take the leading female role in new romantic action series “The War of Mystery Couple” [translated title], the drama’s production company Apple Tree Pictures told the magazine Tuesday.

The “Protect the Boss” heroin is set to describe an undercover agent Kim Seo-won who has all the qualities she needs for the job but money. She struggles to develop her own career and life but Gilro [played by Joo] is the only barrier on her way.

The official added that 2PM member Chansung, who was rumored to be eyeing the project early October, is still in negotiations to star in the drama that will likely begin shooting late next November.

Slated to begin its air on MBC next January, the 20-episode series will feature young secret agents’ love, friendship, conflict and reconciliation.

Choi has cemented her unique and solid acting career hopping between TV and films through her hits such as “My Scary Girl” (2006), “My Sweet Seoul” (SBS, 2008), “Goodbye Mom”(2009), “Petty Romance” (2010) and most recently “Protect the Boss” (SBS, 2011).

The rom-com queen is currently filming comedy pic “Mi-na’s Stationery Store” [translated title] with actor Bong Tae-gyu.

Just this afternoon, she confirmed her drop from hosting KBS' radio show “Choi Kang-hee's Night Flight" to focus on her acting career.
