The Busan International Film Festival, which is reaching beyond Asia and growing into a global festival, kicked off on Friday.
Four-thousand fans waiting at the venue cheered as stars from Korea and overseas showed up on the red carpet.
The opening film will be a Hong Kong cop thriller titled “Cold War” starring Tony Leung Ka-fai and Aaron Kwok, who will both be attending the festival.
Starting on Friday, around 300 films from 75 countries will be featured in seven movie theaters in Busan.
On the sidelines of the event, a master class will be held in which the life stories of movie gurus will be told, starting off with a lecture by Japanese movie art director Isomi Toshihiro.
