The Mnet Asian Music Awards (commonly abbreviated as MAMA), is one of the major K-pop music awarding ceremonies being held annually, involving the participation of some of the most well-known actors and idols, by Mnet Media. As one of the most important events in the South Korean music industry, it has been attended by many popular and most successful K-Pop acts such as Big Bang, Bi Rain, Wonder Girls, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, TVXQ, Seo Taiji, 2NE1, and other artists musically active in South Korea.

Truly the party before the actual party, MNET Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong Red Carpet brings on a new meaning to the red carpet. As stars from all over Asia walk glamorously showing off their fashion statements on the carpet, they are also being interviewed by the MCs, to give people more context on the brilliance of their stars.

So far, we've seen SISTAR, Ailee and Shin Bora, actors Jeon Suk Won and Jung Gyu Woon. Superstar K winner Roy Kim was also spotted. Actress Ko Jun Hee also appeared, saying she is a fan of all K-Pop artists especially 2NE1.

Lee Hi also graced the red carpet looking really fierce in her black and off-white ensemble. Kollaboration Mike Izon winner also did his world stage debut with his rendition of "Set Fire to the Rain".

B.A.P also appeared and performed snippets of their songs, much to the amazement of the MCs and viewers. f(x) also was in attendance. EXO once again appeared as one on the red carpet, like dashing knights in white suits. And Block B also performed, with a renaissance like wardrobe concept, much to the enjoyment of viewers globally.

Psy and Gangnam Style were oft-repeated words among those interviewed, proving Psy's impact globally. Park Shin Hye and Yoon Si Yoon appeared together with the actress donning a red dress following a red goddess theme.

Song Joong Ki also appeared with the nice guy concept, and looking forward to seeing Big Bang, admittedly being their fan.Davichi also performed a heart-stirring ballad, bringing people back to reminisce a more traditional Kpop era.

The red carpet continues up until the stage curtains open for MAMA 2012. The first hour of the red carpet already had a steady list of A-listers and amazing performances.
