Actress Kim Nam Joo won the coveted Grand Prize at the 2012 KBS Drama Awards held on Dec. 31st.
The awards ceremony was aired live from 9 p.m. on Dec. 31st at the KBS Hall. Kim Nam Joo won the Grand Award for her performance in the hit weekend drama, “My Husband Got a Family”, which recorded 45.3% in viewers ratings.
During her acceptance speech, Kim said “I’m very thankful and I thought of Yoon Yeo Jung, who played by mother-in-law in the drama first and I would like to thank her. I prepared a speech, but I don’t remember anything right now”. She added, “I was never in 1st place at school, but I’m happy to be accepting this award”.
What was memorable about the 2012 KBS Drama awards was that the “My Husband Got a Family” team swept many of the awards.
Not only did the lead actress Kim Nam Joo win the grand prize, but actress Yoon Yeo Jung won for Best Actress in a Long Series, writer Park Ji Eun won Best Writer, and the supporting cast members Kim Sang Ho, Cho Yoon Hee all won awards. Meanwhile, Yoo Joon Sang and Kim Nam Joo as well as Cho Yoon Hee and Lee Hee Joon were given the award for Best Couple. In all, members from the hit drama won in ten different categories.
