by VITALWARNING /allkpop.com
Actor Hyun Bin expressed his thoughts on his first challenge of narrating MBC’s documentary, ‘Africa’s Tears’.
On November 26th, Hyun Bin headed over to the dubbing room of the MBC building in Ilsan, where he was greeted happily by the producers of ‘Africa’s Tears’ and began his first recording session for the narration.
While listening to Hyun Bin’s calm, collected voice over the scenes of ‘Africa’s Tears’, the director expressed, “Hyun Bin’s voice suits well with ‘Africas’s Tears’, like I expected. He’s good enough to be a voice actor.”
After completing two hours of recording, the director was happy, and said he was “satisfied, however Hyun Bin wishes to do more recording for his part. He’s prepared to record all night.”
Jang Hyung Won PD expressed, “Even though it was his first narration recording, his delivery was good and his sense of emotions came through naturally. We ended up finishing an hour earlier than expected.”
“I’ve always had interest in watching the ‘Earth’s Tears‘ series, so it’s a great honor for me to have the opportunity to take part in the narration. I hope that as an actor, my participation in a narration dedicated to environmental and social issues will be of great influence,” expressed Hyun Bin.
He continued, “I felt a lot of different emotions after watching the current African traditions and culture, instead of the snippets seen on ‘Animal Kingdom’ or ‘Famine24′. I hope viewers gain more interest in global warming and social issues through ‘Africa’s Tears’.
Hyun Bin was the third narrator for the ‘Earth’s Tears’ series, following An Sung Gi for ‘The North Pole’s Tears’, and Kim Nam Gil for ‘Amazon’s Tears’.
With a production budget of $1.04 million USD, 307 days of filming and one year of selecting and editing material went into the production of ‘Africa’s Tears’.
The first of five parts is scheduled to broadcast this coming December 3rd.
